You can update the name servers for domains registered with Deqo directly from your domain portfolio. Changing name servers determines where DNS is managed for your domain.
What changing nameservers means
Updating name servers moves DNS management away from Deqo
DNS records configured in Deqo will no longer apply
Make sure that:
The domain is registered with Deqo
You have the correct name server values from your DNS provider
(for example: ns1.provider.com, ns2.provider.com)
Name servers must be hostnames, not IP addresses.
A transfer lock does not prevent name server updates.
How to update nameservers in Deqo
Go to Portfolio
Select the domain you want to manage
Open the DNS tab
Locate the Nameservers section
Select custom name servers
Enter the new name server values provided by your DNS provider
Save your changes
The update is submitted immediately after saving.
Propagation time
Changes may begin working within minutes
Full global propagation can take up to 24–48 hours
During this time, websites or email services may behave inconsistently
Propagation depends on DNS caching and is outside Deqo’s control.
Important notes
Most providers require at least two name servers
Once you point away from Deqo name servers:
DNS records managed in Deqo will no longer apply
All DNS changes must be made at the new provider
Incorrect name servers may cause:
Website downtime
Email delivery issues
Troubleshooting
If name server updates do not work as expected:
Double-check the name server values for accuracy
Allow sufficient time for propagation
Confirm DNS configuration at the new provider
