Verify Domain Ownership

How domain ownership verification works

Before a domain can be published on the Deqo marketplace, ownership must be verified. Verification helps protect buyers and prevents unauthorized listings.

Domains Registered Through Deqo

Domains registered directly through Deqo are verified automatically.

No additional action is required before publishing.

Domains Registered at an External Registrar

If your domain is registered with another registrar (such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Porkbun), you'll need to verify ownership manually.

Deqo supports two verification methods.

Option 1: Verify Using Nameservers

  1. Locate the Deqo nameservers assigned to your account. These can be found under Settings → Identity.

  2. Update your domain's nameservers at your registrar.

  3. Return to Deqo and open the domain from your Portfolio.

  4. Go to the DNS tab and click Verify Ownership.

Nameserver verification also allows you to use Deqo's DNS management features.

Option 2: Verify Using a TXT Record

  1. Open the domain from your Portfolio.

  2. Go to the DNS tab.

  3. Copy the verification token provided by Deqo.

  4. Add the TXT record at your registrar.

  5. Return to Deqo and click Verify Ownership.

Once the verification record is detected, your domain will be marked as verified.

Troubleshooting Verification Issues

If your domain isn't verifying:

  • Confirm that your nameservers or TXT record were entered correctly.

  • Allow time for DNS changes to propagate.

  • Retry verification from the DNS tab after making corrections.

DNS changes often verify within minutes, but in some cases may take up to 48 hours to propagate.

If verification still fails after 48 hours, please contact Deqo Support and include:

  • The domain name

  • Your registrar name

  • A screenshot of your DNS settings
