Domain transfers are the process of moving a domain name from one registrar or owner to another. In Deqo, transfers may occur when purchasing a domain from the marketplace or when managing domains across supported registrars.
This article explains how domain transfers work and what to expect.
When domain transfers happen
A domain transfer may take place in the following situations:
After purchasing a domain from the Deqo marketplace
When moving a domain to Deqo as a registrar
When transferring a purchased domain to one of Deqo’s supported registrars
Transfers are handled securely and follow standard registrar and registry rules.
How transfers are handled in Deqo
Domain ownership transfers for marketplace purchases are managed by our escrow team.
The escrow team coordinates with the seller and registrar to ensure a secure handover.
Depending on your preference, the domain may be:
>Transferred into your Deqo account, or
>Transferred to another supported registrar
You will receive email updates during the transfer process.
Transfer timelines
Domain transfers are not instant.
The timeline depends on:
>The current registrar
>Registry rules for the domain extension (TLD)
>Required confirmations or security locks
Some transfers may complete within days, while others may take longer.
What may be required from you
During a transfer, you may be asked to:
Confirm transfer authorization by email
Provide or verify contact information
Follow instructions sent by Deqo or the registrar
Promptly completing these steps helps avoid delays.
After a transfer is completed
Once the transfer is finalized:
You have full ownership and control of the domain
The domain is available in your Deqo account or at your chosen registrar
You can manage renewals, nameservers, and contact details as needed
If you have questions about a domain transfer or need assistance at any stage of the process, please contact Deqo Support.
